Reporting and disclosure are essential for sustainable finance because they ensure transparency and accountability, allowing investors to make informed decisions. These practices help identify environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities, fostering trust and encouraging long-term investment in sustainable projects. Transparent reporting drives better corporate practices and aligns financial flows with sustainability goals, contributing to a more resilient and responsible financial system.

Recognizing the critical nature of this topic, the International Sustainable Finance Centre of Excellence (ISFCOE) is convening experts for a webinar titled “Navigating Reporting and Disclosure in Ireland: Addressing Gaps, Overcoming Challenges, and Seizing Opportunities” on June 12, 2024. This event coincides with the launch of our report, “Charting the Course: Insights into Ireland’s Sustainable Finance, ESG Reporting, and Disclosure Landscape.” Commissioned by the International Sustainable Finance Centre of Excellence (ISFCOE) with support from Skillnet Ireland and authored by Davy Horizons, the report aims to enhance the understanding and preparedness of financial institutions in Ireland for evolving ESG reporting and disclosure requirements. It evaluates current practices, identifies gaps, and offers guidance to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency in ESG reporting. Experts will discuss the current landscape, gaps, and opportunities in Ireland and introduce a course on Sustainable Finance Reporting and Disclosures.

At ISFCOE, we strive to create an enabling ecosystem for financial institutions to advance their reporting and disclosure efforts. This leads us to the Professional Diploma in Sustainable Finance Reporting and Disclosures (NFQ Level 9 Postgrad), scheduled for October 2024. This diploma aims to empower professionals in finance, reporting, and assurance functions within the financial services industry to lead in ESG regulatory reporting and disclosure activities. As regulatory requirements evolve and new mandatory EU sustainable finance reporting obligations approach, the industry must be well-prepared. This course is brought to you by Sustainable Finance Skillnet. For more details, click here.
